A group of Russian specialists will be coming to Sri Lanka today to investigate Friday’s plane crash in Hokandara, Athurugiriya.
Air Force spokesperson Wing Commander Gihan Senevirathne stated that the group of Russian specialists are from the company which recently overhauled the ill-fated Antonov-AN32.
He added that the Russian experts, would assist in the SLAF investigation into the incident. The scene of the crash has now been cleared of all debris.
The SLAF spokesperson noted that construction on homes that were damaged in the incident, will commence shortly, adding that the required raw materials have already been transported to the location.
Four airmen, including the pilot, were killed in Friday’s crash.
The sole survivor, a leading aircraftman, is still receiving treatment for his injuries, at the National Hospital, Colombo.
